Public Arrest Announcement by The Toronto Police Service
The Toronto Police Service has informed the public of recent arrests connected to an attempted murder investigation. The troubling incident took place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, around 3:20 p.m. Police were called to a stabbing scene in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East area.
Circumstances Surrounding the Incident
It’s alleged that a 17-year-old male was at the Don Mills Subway Station’s TTC bus concourse level, socializing with a group of youths. Suddenly, an altercation broke out between two groups. During this brawl, one of the youths was stabbed. The 17-year-old male victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in critical but stable condition.
Successful Apprehension of the Culprits
In response to the incident, officers from 33 Division successfully located and arrested the individual responsible for the stabbing. The suspect had endeavored to escape the scene on a departing bus. A second male was also arrested and found to be in possession of a weapon.
Charges and Court Appearances
The main suspect, a 14-year-old male from Toronto, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon. His initial court appearance was on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, in room 107.
Simultaneously, the second 14-year-old male from Toronto, arrested for weapon possession, also made his first appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice on that day, at the same location.
